Even though Liz Talley grew up in the big city of Houston, TX...she is a
country girl through & through. Her love for traditional country music
began as far back as she can remember listening to mamas radio on the
kitchen table.
Thanks to the new neighbors that were musicians, she soon began learning guitar chords everyday after school. She taught herself how to play drums & bass listening to the sounds of such honkytonkers as Johnny Bush, Ray Price, & Faron Young. As fate would have it, the neighbors needed a drummer at the last minute & they convinced her parents to let her do the job with them. That was in jr. high school & she's been hooked ever since!
Liz is not only a good singer but an excellent drummer and has played many shows with Wanda Jackson, Norma Jean, Frenchie Burke,Tommy Cash, Billy Yates, and Tony Booth over the years. It´s different to see a girl drummer, especially one that sings. "People ask me all the time, isn´t it hard to play and sing at the same time, I don't really know, this is how I got started and I just do it...feels right. It´s kind of funny to see where I am now because I was never really interested in being a singer, I was very shy and I just wanted to play in the band" says the modest singer. Fortunately, that changed over time and Liz Talley has been singing and playing music around Texas for several years. She puts on a great show!
She is no stranger to hard work and it shows through her determination and dedication to carve a name for herself in country music. With her upbeat personality and down to earth ways, she is a favorite among event planners and radio personalities. This debut CD "Road to You" has been a long time coming....and listeners will enjoy the true sounds of country music that best describes Liz Talley. The litle drummer girl from Texas!
